People & Eastern Lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National Park.

In the famous national park of Kahuzi Biega located in Democratic republic of congo is the home for the eastern lowland gorillas that have been opened for visitors for the last 5 years.

In their natural habitat, Eastern Lowland gorillas come into contact with humans from time to time. Humans have hunted gorillas in democratic republic of congo  probably ever since they came to live in the same habitat, but over the past decades the relationship between people and gorillas has become more multifaceted till various conservation groups and local organizations like pole pole foundation .

In Some parts of the park Eastern lowland gorillas have been habituated to the presence of humans and that’s what makes Gorilla trekking in congo as an interesting safari activity in kahuzi biega national park, as the work is progressing slows in habituation , that’s the reason as to why the gorilla families are also increasing in number that are open to be visited by travelers.

The Increased relationship between the people and the gorillas has been seen more even in the afforestation of the deforested part of the Park to increase the home for the endangered Eastern Lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National Park.
