Day 1: Arrival in Kigali then transfer to Goma Town
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking at Virunga National Park

Detailed Itinerary of the 7 Days Eastern & Mountain Gorilla Trek
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali then transfer to Goma Town
You shall arrive at the Kigali International Airport where you meet our driver guide who takes you through a meet and greet session as well as briefing on the 7 Days Eastern & Mountain Gorilla Trek Congo at Virunga National Park and Kahuzi Biega National Park.
After the precise briefing, you shall be transferred on a precise tour around Kigali as you visit the Genocide Memorials, National Museums, National Market, cultural sites.
After the briefing, you shall proceed to check-in lodge/ hotel for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Hotel Chezlando.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking at Virunga National Park
After breakfast early in the morning, you shall transfer to traverse the Rwanda-Congo border to Goma Town. You shall take a period of 3 to 5 hours as you watch the green terrain vegetation, rolling hills, rural villages, bird species and after a while, you shall reach the busy Goma Town.
After reaching Goma Town, you drive to Virunga National Park which is located a few kilometers away. Transfer to the Park headquarters for precise briefing on conduct around the Gorillas. You shall then be allocated into groups of 8 with lead rangers who transfer you into the green forest to trek the Gorillas in their natural forest habitat.
You shall enter the green forest and trek the Gorillas for a period of 3 to 5 hours crossing from one point to another in the green forest. You shall later meet the Gorillas and in a period of 1 hour, stay in their presence taking many photos to keep with you. Take many photos to keep with a camera that has no flash to keep with you. After trekking the Gorillas, you shall transfer to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Kibumba Tented Camp.
Day 3: Lake Kivu Excursion and Transfer to Bukavu
Breakfast in the morning then travel South along the shores of the stunning Lake Kivu. Depending on the schedule, travelers enjoy scenic boat cruises or lakeside excursions as they admire one of Africa’s most beautiful freshwater lakes.
You shall proceed to Bukavu, the gateway to Kahuzi-Biega National Park as you observe local life and beautiful terrain landscapes throughout the Great Lakes region. Later, you shall transfer to check-in lodge and prepare for the next day’s trek. Coco Lodge.
Day 4: Transfer to Kahuzi Biega National Park
Morning Breakfast then transfer to Kahuzi Biega National Park located a few kilometers off Bukavu Town. Along the journey, you shall watch stunning green forest vegetation terrain, bird species.
After a while, you shall reach the park then go on optional guided nature walks to the Tshibati Waterfalls and the nearby tea plantations. After the adventure, you shall return back to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Coco Lodge.
Day 5: Eastern Lowland Gorilla Trek at Kahuzi-Biega National Park
Early morning breakfast then transfer to the Park headquarters for precise briefing on conduct around the Gorillas. You shall be welcomed by park ranger guides who allocate you into groups of 8 with lead rangers. They will transfer you into the green forest where you traverse from one point to another in the green forest watching the green terrain vegetation, bird species and small wildlife animals.
You shall then meet the Gorillas and in an hour stay in their presence taking many photos with a camera that has no flash to keep. After trekking the Gorillas, you shall return back to your lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Coco Lodge.
Day 6: Nature Walk and Cultural Experience
Enjoy breakfast then proceed on guided forest walks, birdwatching excursions, waterfall visits or cultural encounters with local communities. These experiences offer deeper insights into the traditions, livelihoods and conservation partnerships that support gorilla protection in the region.
You shall have a chance to relax and reflect on the incredible wildlife encounters experienced during the safari. After the adventure, you shall return to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Coco Lodge.
Day 7: Transfer to Kigali (City Tour)then to Kigali International Airport
Breakfast in the morning then transfer to the Kigali where you enjoy a city Tour visiting the Genocide Memorials, National Museum and National Market where you get souvenir to take back with you. After the visit, you shall transfer to the Kigali International Airport to board your flight back home.
