Africa’s oldest national park faces closure.

Africa’s oldest national park of Virunga faces closure due to the fact that the park is having security problem as revealed on 11 May communication from Virunga Officials to suspend the tourists activities in the park which included gorilla trekking , Nyiragongo Hiking , Chimpanzee Tracking & Rwenzori mountaineering plus sight seeing the virunga mountains of democratic republic of congo .

According to the park officials that held meeting with various stakeholders , they had promised to un suspend tourists activities in virunga on 04/06/2018, the park decided to communicate today that the park has been closed till next year.

Virunga National Park Foundation has announced the temporary closure of Virunga National Park on june 4 due to Security issues that saw the kidnap of the two travelers.
